Adding IT contact information for Zoom Rooms system alerts

An alert will be displayed on the TV screen when Zoom Rooms detects a system outage, audio disconnect or another issue. The Zoom Room controller or scheduling display can be used directly to inform your internal support of the issue, or you can send an email and/or call.

Prerequisites for Contact IT information for Alert Notification

  • Versions 3.6x and higher of Zoom Rooms for Mac or Windows/Touch are required,
  • Version 3.6x and higher of the Zoom Rooms iPad controller are required
  • It is possible to control Zoom Room from your Android device
  • Owner or administrator of an account with Zoom Rooms privileges
  • It is possible to report issues via email and/or by using the Support Phone number

How to add IT contact information for Zoom Rooms system alerts

  1. Log into Zoom’s web portal by entering your email address and password.
  2. Then click Zoom Rooms under the Room Management section.
  3. You can change your account settings by clicking on Account Settings.
  4. Click on the Account Profile tab on the left side of the screen.
  5. The following information should be entered under Basic:
    1. Support email for reporting issues:
      • If you click edit, then you will be able to type in the e-mail address that you will be using to report any issues with Zoom Rooms.
      • Send a new code by clicking the Send a new code button.
      • Please enter the verification code that was sent to the email address you provided in step 6 in the box provided for Verification code.
      • In order for users to be able to report issues to IT, you can check Allow users to report issues to IT if you wish.
      • Then click on the Save button.
    2. Support Phone:
      • If you would like to receive reports of issues, please type your phone number in the space provided.
      • Save your changes by clicking the Save button.

How to send an alert from a Zoom Room Controller

  1. Click on the Settings button on the controller and then click Help at the bottom of the page.
  2. You can report issues to IT by clicking the Report issues to IT button.
  3. Select the appropriate issue(s) in the Select Issue Type window that appears.
  4. (Optional) Add your e-mail address in the box that says Your e-mail address.
  5. Please click the Submit button to submit your request.

How to send an alert from a Zoom Room Scheduling Display

  1. In the Scheduling Display, click on the Schedule button.
  2. In the Help menu, click Report an Issue to IT and follow the instructions.
  3. Please select the appropriate issue(s) in the Select Issue Type window.
  4. Please enter your email address in the Your email box (optional).
  5. Submit the form by clicking on the Submit button.
