How to use and preserve original sound in a meeting in Zoom App
You are able to export the original sound from your microphone without having to use Zoom’s amplifying and echo canceling functions to preserve the original sound. When you already have these features built into your microphone or your sound equipment, then you don’t have to worry about enhancing them further.
In the Zoom desktop client, once you have enabled the feature that allows you to preserve original sound, you will also be able to enable the following features:
- It is possible to optimize Zoom audio for the highest quality by using the high fidelity music mode.
- There are several algorithms that Zoom uses to cancel out echos. As a default, this feature is enabled.
- By default, stereo audio is enabled to provide you with a better listening experience.
The feature to preserve original sound in the client can be enabled in your meeting settings and turned on and off as needed once you have enabled it in the client.
As part of screen sharing, you may need to share audio either in mono or stereo, so please refer to our article on how to share computer audio when screen sharing.
