Special and industry-set rate phone numbers in Zoom App
A number prefix that qualifies as a special rate number and is subject to a per-minute rate, regardless of the calling plan that is assigned to the users that place the calls, is one of those prefixes that qualify as special rate numbers. It is not uncommon for these numbers to be split-cost or shared-cost numbers, which are generally more expensive than standard numbers in the country in which they reside.
Several prefixes in different countries have standardized rates, and/or the charges and the charging mechanism are determined by the industry, and these factors are beyond Zoom’s control. For example, certain prefixes in the USA charge a fixed rate for calls, and some prefixes in other countries charge a charge per minute. When Zoom is used in this situation, the customer is charged the Industry Set Rate. Calls to these prefixes are flagged in the phone system management software as Industry Set Rates.

How to view your per minute special rate
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal by entering your email address and password.
- Click on Account Management in the navigation menu, and then click on Billing in the next menu.
- When you are viewing or editing your Zoom Phone plan, you will find the option View/Edit Countries/Regions.
A blue arrow appears in the far-right column of the map when a country or region has a special rate. - In the Special column, you will see the blue arrow that points to the special rate that you qualify for (Special).
How to view calls being charged at a special rate or industry-set rate
Check to see if you are being charged a special rate on your calls by following these steps:
- The Zoom web portal can be accessed by logging in to your account.
- Select Phone System Management from the navigation menu, then select Logs from the list of options.
- The Show charged calls only option should be selected in order to show only the charges for the call.
Hovering over the question mark under the charge column will reveal the per minute rate under the charge column. You can cross-reference the rate in the Billing tab with the rate shown in this per minute rate.
