Automatically join a meeting using the auto attendant feature in Zoom

The auto attendant feature allows the Zoom application to automatically join a video conference call without the need to accept or answer the invitation.

Prerequisites

Enable auto-attendant group in chat

Set at account level

Enable the chat feature for an auto-attendant group for all members of your organization

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with permission to edit the account settings, [Account Settings], and then click.
  2. [Meeting] of the tab Auto Response Group in the chat. To move to the option, make sure that the setting is enabled.
    If the setting is invalid, click the status toggle to enable it. When the confirmation dialog is displayed, select [on] to confirm the change.
  3. (Optional) If you want this setting to be mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon and click Lock to check the setting.

If you want to set it at the group level, select [Group Management] from [Group] and the settings by clicking on the tab.

Note: If the option is grayed out, it is locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.

To enable the auto attendant group feature that you use, do the following:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal, click [Meeting Settings], and then click.
  2. Go to the Auto Answer Groups in Chat  option on the Meetings tab and make sure the settings are enabled.
    If the setting is invalid, click the status toggle to enable it. When the confirmation dialog is displayed, select [on] to confirm the change.

Note: If the option is grayed out, it is locked at the group or account level, and you will need to contact your Zoom administrator.

Add contacts to auto attendant group

Users who invite contacts must be members of the auto attendant group to automatically join the meeting when the Zoom client is invited. Follow the steps below to add a user to a group.

  • Sign in to the Zoom client.
  • Click [Contact]. Search for users (scroll or search) to add to the auto attendant chat group. Right-click the user and select Add to Auto Answer Group.
  • The new group appears in the list of contacts called Auto Answer Groups.
  • Note: Invitations sent by this user are automatically accepted. There is no limit to the number of users added to the auto attendant group.
    You can add free users to the auto attendant group.
  • To remove a user from the auto attendant group, right-click the user in the auto attendant group and click Remove from auto attendant group.
