Causes of no sound in Zoom on the phone
You need to go to the mobile settings and allow the application to use the microphone and camera, if these settings were not allowed earlier during installation.
Reasons :
- Broken settings;
- The organizer intentionally disabled this option;
- The microphone is off;
- The Zoom app is not allowed to use the speaker.
How to unmute Zoom on your phone
One of the reasons when there is no sound in Zoom on Android, you need to open the application, go to settings, find and click on “Conference” next:
- At the very top, click “Automatic connection to the audio conference”;
- Check the box next to “Use the Internet”.
How to turn on the microphone
The reason for which it is not audible in Zoom is that the speaker is turned off. The microphone can be turned on by simply clicking on the “Microphone” icon in the lower left corner, often when you enter the office it is crossed out, which means that you are inaudible.
To connect the sound and be heard, swipe to the right, the circle “Turn on my microphone” will appear, start talking.
In order not to distract other participants in the meeting or lesson with unnecessary noise, press again after you have finished your speech.
On the teacher’s side
The third option, if the sound does not work in Zoom on the phone, is when the organizer himself has the right to turn it off for all participants. In order to turn off the microphone, everyone needs:
- In the online conference room, click on “Participants”;
- Click “Mute All”.

In the fourth option, when there is no sound in Zoom on the phone, you need to click on the microphone, in the lower left corner, “Call using device sound” will appear, you need to click on this inscription. This function appears when you enter the conference, click on it so that you can be heard and you can hear the speaker.
Make sure that only you are not heard, perhaps the seminar organizer turned off the sound for all participants, in this case, write your question in the chat.
Quite often, it helps to simply restart the device and connect, again, to the conference. If you urgently need to enter an online session, try it through a computer, there you can enter without registering in the application, simply by clicking on the link or entering an identifier with a password, as well as a name or nickname.
