On the computer, you can adjust the position of the picture by logging in from the program settings or during a conference. Before starting an online session, it is better to make sure that the application settings are correct for the correct image, audibility and sound.

To flip in the application you need :

  1. Go to the settings, the icon is located in the upper right corner;
  2. On the left, select “video”;
  3. The video from the device will be displayed, in the corner click on “rotate 90”;
  4. For full screen mode, select 16:9 widescreen below.

To correct the image from the conference, you must :

  • Click on the arrow next to the “camera” icon;
    select “video settings”;
  • After that, a window will open, as in the previous paragraphs. Select “rotate 90”, then 16:9 widescreen.
  • After the images are correctly broadcast, close the window, the changes will be saved automatically, but they will take effect only after creating a new conference or reconnecting to the online account.

To flip the camera in Zoom or mirror the picture, you need to check the box next to the words “display my video as a mirror” in the settings window.

In the same window, you can improve your image by turning on HD mode. With these options, there will be more traffic consumption, but when connected to Wi-Fi, this will not be a problem, also if unlimited Internet is on a mobile or tablet.

If you select the “touch up my appearance” function, it will smooth out the tired appearance and give freshness. It looks like a feature in the phone “improvement”.

On the phone flip the camera in Zoom

On the mobile application, you can’t turn the picture, but you can choose which camera will broadcast the image, front or main. To do this, click on the “camera” icon in the left corner. To flip the front camera in Zoom, you need to turn on the video, and then you will be able to switch the image.

Why is the camera upside down in Zoom?

When downloading the application on any device, the image settings are set automatically to full screen. In the mobile application, the device is turned upside down, probably because the picture was switched during the previous conference.

In order for your picture to be displayed correctly during the conference, enable the necessary options, as described in the first paragraph. When working from home, you often do not want to show the home environment, in order to avoid awkwardness, you can use the “background” option for this, read the instructions here.

FAQs

Why does Zoom flip my face?

By default, Zoom will display a copy of anything that is being streamed from your webcam. Zoom’s video settings include an option where you may uncheck the box that says “mirror my video.” You can get this setting by going into the Zoom menu. As soon as you uncheck the box that says “mirror my video,” everything on the screen will immediately flip sides, and your viewers will see the same thing.

Does Zoom automatically flip your camera?

What gives? Why is everything in the wrong order? By default, zoom videos will be mirrored because it gives the impression of being more natural to see one’s own reflection when viewed in this manner. The other participants continue to see you in your natural, non-mirrored state. You have the option to turn off the mirroring feature, although doing so can be confusing and requires some practice to get used to.

Should I mirror my camera in Zoom?

You shouldn’t make your movie available to other users on Zoom to mirror it. By default, Zoom will only mirror the video for your eyes, while other people will continue to see the original. For a variety of reasons, you have the option to turn off the mirror display of your video to you. You should, however, feel completely at ease when viewing the mirrored version of your movie under regular conditions.

What does mirror my video mean in Zoom?

When you share your camera with someone else, an image of yourself with your face turned around will appear by default.Disabling the feature known as “Mirror my video” will allow you to see yourself as the other people in the meeting see you. This will only have an effect on how you see your own film; it will not have any bearing on how other participants see you.
