Eliminating echos with proximity detection in Zoom App
It uses ultrasonic sound to determine whether or not a Zoom Room or another device connected to the Zoom meeting is in close proximity to the Zoom desktop client. It will automatically disable the computer audio in a Zoom Room when using the Zoom Desktop Client, preventing echoes in the audio.
Prerequisites
- Please make sure that you are using Zoom Rooms version 3.6 or higher for Mac or PC/Touch
- Versions 3.6 and higher of Zoom Rooms iPad controller are required
- There is an option to automatically share directly using ultrasonic proximity signals.
Instructions
When a Zoom Room is detected to be close to the Zoom Desktop Client, the audio (both speaker and microphone audio) from the computer will be automatically disabled by the Zoom Desktop Client due to the fact that Zoom Rooms constitute the audio source. If you choose to enable this feature, there is nothing you need to do on your end.
