How to Regenerate a token for a virtual appliance in Zoom App

The process of regenerating a token for a virtual appliance

It is the role of the on-premise appliances of Zoom to connect to Zoom on your behalf using the authentication and authorization tokens that are created by the web portal on your computer. It is possible for administrators to regenerate these tokens if the token needs to be rotated.

Regeneration of a token requires the following prerequisites:

  • Accounts for Business, Education, or Enterprise
  • users with Ownership or Admin Privileges

The process of generating a new token

The Meeting Connector may be regenerated by regenerating the token

Tokens should be regenerated

  1. To access Zoom’s web portal, you will need to sign in to your Zoom account.
  2. Click on Advanced and then Meeting Connector to access Zoom’s web portal.
  3. You can find the Token section by scrolling down to in the Setup tab.
  4. You can generate your own token by clicking on ‘Regenerate’.
  5. If you want to copy the token, make sure you click Copy.

The new token has been added

  1. Navigate to the web interface of the appliance on your web browser, which is located at https://IPaddress:5480.
  2. You will need your administrator credentials to access the web interface.
  3. Once you have copied the new token to the Configure tab, you can start using it.
  4. You will be redirected to this page.
  5. The appliance will have to be restarted once you click OK.

Regeneration of the token used to connect to the Virtual Room Connector

Note: In the event that you are using the Virtual Room Connector Load Balancer, then you will also have to follow the steps outlined below to update the Load Balancer as well.

Tokens should be regenerated

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal by entering your email address and password.
  2. To access the H.323/SIP Room Connector, click Room Management from the navigation menu.
  3. Select Virtual Room Connector from the list of tabs.
  4. The Virtual Room Connector can be viewed by clicking the Download & Token link under the Download & Token section of the page.
  5. Once the token has been created, you will need to click Regenerate.
  6. The new token needs to be copied.

My account has been updated with a new token that has been added

  1. The Web console of the appliance can be accessed by navigating to https://IPaddress:5480 in your web browser.
  2. You will need your administrator credentials to login.
  3. Copy the new token and paste it into the Configuration tab.
  4. Then press the Submit button.
  5. The appliance will need to be restarted when prompted.

For the Recording Connector, it is necessary to regenerate the token

Tokens should be regenerated

  1. To access Zoom’s web portal, you will need to sign in to your Zoom account.
  2. Click on Advanced and then Meeting Connector to access Zoom’s web portal.
  3. Click on Setup and scroll down until you see the Token section.
  4. When you see the new Token section, click Regenerate.
  5. You can then copy this new token by selecting Copy.

I have added a new token to my account

  1. The Web console of the appliance can be accessed by navigating to https://IPaddress:5480 in your web browser.
  2. You will need your administrator credentials to login.
  3. Copy the new token and paste it into the Configuration tab.
  4. Then click Submit.
  5. When the appliance is prompted to restart, click OK.
