Keyboard shortcuts and hot keys for Zoom App
In the Zoom settings, you can navigate the screen using keyboard shortcuts instead of using your mouse to change the settings. As well as being available in this article, they can also be accessed in the settings for your Zoom desktop client, under the Keyboard Shortcuts list.
Prerequisites for hot keys and keyboard shortcuts
- Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, and Linux: version 5.2.0 or higher
- Zoom mobile application for iOS (iPad), version 4.4.5 (55341.0715) or higher
Windows
In the Keyboard Shortcuts settings, you are able to view and edit keyboard shortcuts.
- Please sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
- Then, click on the profile picture of yours and then on Settings.
- Then, click on Keyboard Shortcuts.
It will show you a list of keyboard shortcuts.
Editing shortcuts
Click on the shortcut to edit it, and then push the key combination to use. If you want to edit every shortcut, you can do this.
There are a few shortcuts that can be used by users without Zoom focused, meaning that they can be used as global shortcuts. All you have to do is select the checkbox beside the shortcut if you want it to be available globally.

General
- F6: Navigate among Zoom popup windows.
- Ctrl+Alt+Shift: Move focus to Zoom’s meeting controls
Meeting
- PageUp:ย View previous 25 video stream in gallery view
- PageDown: View next 25 video stream in gallery view
- Alt: Turn on/off the optionย Always show meeting controlsย inย Generalย settings
- Alt+F1: Switch to active speaker viewย in video meeting
- Alt+F2: Switch to gallery video viewย in video meeting
- Alt+F4: Close the current window
- Alt+V:ย Start/stop video
- Alt+A:ย Mute/unmute audio
- Alt+M: Mute/unmute audio for everyone except host
Note:ย For the meeting host only - Alt+S: Launch share screen window and stop screen share

Note: The editing of chat messages can be accomplished with additional shortcuts as well.
Phone
- Ctrl+Shift+P:ย Call highlighted phone number.
- Ctrl+Shift+A: Accept inbound call.
- Ctrl+Shift+E: End current call.
- Ctrl+Shift+D: Decline inbound call.
- Ctrl+Shift+M: Mute/unmute mic.
- Ctrl+Shift+H: Hold/unhold call.
macOS
Within your Accessibility settings, you can view and edit the keyboard shortcuts you have set up.
- Join the Zoom desktop client by logging into the Zoom web interface.
- You will find your profile picture and the Settings option under your profile picture.
- Tap onย ย Keyboard Shortcuts.
A list of keyboard shortcuts will appear.

Your Accessibility settings will allow you to see all the keyboard shortcuts you have available to you.
