Sound quality issues with certain USB extenders in the Zoom Room for Mac

Event:
When using certain USB over CAT5 extenders, such as Gefen and Crestron, with Zoom Rooms running on Mac OS X version 10.12 (10.12.24, 10.12.5 or 10.12.6 Beta 4) and speakerphones such as Revolabs UC With the 500, or Jabra 810, the received audio sounds distorted.
Resolution:
Zoom works closely with Apple and related vendors to address this bug. As updates become available from Apple or affected vendors, update this article accordingly. Use the following mitigation options until the official fix is available.
Option 1 : Change to 24- bit audio (Revolabs device only)
If you are using Revolabs UC-500 or another Revolabs product, the following steps will solve the problem.
- Start the Audio Midi Setup program in the Utilities folder in the Mac application list.
- Select the Revolabs device from the list on the left side of the screen.
- Change the format to 24 bits.
Option 2 : Mac OS X version 10.11 to use the
Mac OS X version 10.11 and earlier do not seem to be affected by this issue. Please refrain from upgrading to Mac OS X version 10.12 until this issue is resolved.
Option 3 : Use a USB Extender Not Affected by the Problem
The following USB extenders do not seem to be affected by this issue:
