How to share Your Screen While Seeing All Meeting Participants in Zoom

While sharing your screen from your Mac or Windows device, you’ll be able to see an adjustable video panel that shows the video of the other participants.

In the case where content is not being shared, we have other video layouts that you can use.

Prerequisites for sharing your screen while seeing all meeting participants

  • Download the Zoom Client for Windows or Mac
  • 4.5.3261.0825 is the latest version of the Windows client that will adjust the grid view in Gallery View

Showing the Video Panel

  1. Invite your colleagues to a meeting by sharing your screen.
  2. By default, the video panel for the participants will appear, but if you cannot see it, follow these steps:
    1. In the meeting control window, click More.
    2. Then click Show Video Panel.

Windows

Windows Screen Sharing Layouts

  • Active Speaker View
  • Gallery View Strip
  • Gallery View Grid
  • Minimize Video Panel
  • Hide Video Panel

Active Speaker View

The Active Speaker Panel icon will appear when you click the Participant’s video icon to view the video as a large Active Speaker panel.

Gallery View Strip

The Film Strip icon at the top of the panel can be clicked in order to show a list of participants in Gallery View.

Note :  When the video panel is placed at the top or bottom of your screen, the participants will be shown in a horizontal strip, instead of a vertical film strip by default.

Gallery View Grid

At least six participants need to be involved in the meeting for the Grid option to appear (1 participant must present and at least five viewers need to view).

Using the Grid icon, you can view the participants in a grid that you can adjust as needed.

Minimize Video Panel

It is possible to reduce the size of the Video Panel to only show who is currently speaking by clicking on the icon to minimize it.

Hide Video Panel

In addition to being able to hide the video panel during the meeting, it can be completely hidden as well.

  1. Click on the More button in the meeting controls.
  2. The video panel will be hidden when you click the Hide button.

  • Active Speaker View
  • Gallery View

Active Speaker View

Click the large Active Speaker Panel icon to view the video as a large Active Speaker Panel of the Participant.

The Active Speaker panel can be viewed in a smaller version by clicking the smaller Active Speaker Panel icon.

Note: It is also possible to resize both options at the same time.

Gallery View

In the top left corner of the panel, choose the four-by-four grid icon, in order to see participants in Gallery View.

Note: If you drag the video panel to the top or bottom of your screen, the video panel will be shown with a horizontal strip instead. If you leave it on the middle of your screen, however, the video panel will show the participants in a vertical film strip.

Minimize Video Panel

It is possible to reduce the size of the Video Panel to only show who is currently speaking by clicking on the icon to minimize it.

Hide Video Panel

It is also possible to completely hide the panel during the meeting as well.

  1. The meeting controls will allow you to click on More to learn more.
  2. When the video panel is hidden, the meeting controls will appear.
