Prerequisites for live streaming meetings or webinars on Workplace by Facebook

Streaming for Meetings

• Account types include Pro, Business, Education, and Enterprise
• There is a license for the host.
• Here is Zoom’s desktop client:
  • Version 4.1.11049.1024 or higher required for Windows
  • Version 4.1.11049.1024 or higher is required for MacOS
• Workplace by Facebook supports live streaming

Streaming for Webinars

• Account type: Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise
• A Webinar license is assigned to the host
• Desktop client for Zoom:
  • Version 4.1.8826.0925 or higher for Windows
  • Version 4.1.8826.0925 or higher is required for macOS

How to enable live streaming meetings on Workplace by Facebook

For your entire account

Workplace by Facebook makes it easy to live stream meetings for your entire organization:

1. Zoom web portal administrators have the privilege of editing account settings when logged in.
2. Select Account Settings from Account Management.
3. Check the Allow livestreaming of meetings setting under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, click Save, and then confirm that the option is enabled.
4. The setting can be made mandatory for all users in your account by clicking the lock icon. To confirm it, click the Lock icon and then click the Lock button.

For a specific group

Workplace by Facebook can be used to live stream meetings for all members of a specific group:

1. Register as an administrator with group editing privileges on the Zoom web portal.
2. Select Groups from User Management.
3. To edit a group, click its name.
4. You can enable livestreaming of meetings by clicking the Allow livestreaming of meetings setting under the Meeting tab, then check Workplace by Facebook and save your changes.
   Note:
5. It must be changed at the Account level if the option is grayed out.
6. Click the lock icon and then click Lock to confirm this setting is mandatory for all members of this group.

For your own meeting

Having your meetings streamed live on Workplace by Facebook is as simple as the following:

1. To access the Zoom web portal, you will need to sign in.
2. You can do this by clicking the Settings button.
3. When you are working on the Meeting tab, in the In Meeting (Advanced) section, look for the Allow livestreaming of meetings setting and make sure it is enabled, and then check the Workplace by Facebook option. Lastly, click Save to save all the changes.
   Note: Your Zoom administrator will be able to assist you if the option is grayed out.

How to enable live streaming webinars on Workplace by Facebook

For your entire account

Stream webinars on Workplace by Facebook to all members of your organization:

1. You need to log in as an administrator with the permission to make changes to your account settings on the Zoom web portal.
2. Select Account Settings from Account Management.
3. Locate the Allow livestreaming of webinars setting under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, check it is enabled, check the Facebook Workplace option, and click Save to save the changes.
4. The lock icon can be clicked to make this setting mandatory for your account’s entire user base, but you must choose to make it mandatory by clicking Lock to confirm the setting.

For a specific group

Using Workplace by Facebook, it is possible for each member of a particular group to live stream webinars on the platform:

1. As an administrator, you have the privilege of editing groups within the Zoom web portal once you are logged in.
2. In the User Management section, click on Groups and then click on Manage Users.
3. Select the group whose name you want to edit from the list of groups.
4. It is recommended that you locate the Allow livestreaming of webinars setting under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, verify that the option is checked, select the Facebook Workplace checkbox, and click Save to save your changes to the Meeting tab.
   Note:
5. If the option is grayed out, then on the account level, it has been locked so it has to be changed at the account level in order to be activated.
6. It is possible to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group by clicking the lock icon and then clicking Lock to confirm the change. (Optional)

For your own webinar

Workplace by Facebook allows you to stream live webinars:

1. Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.
2. Click the Settings button.
3. There is a setting under the Meeting tab called Allow livestreaming of webinars, which must be enabled. This setting is located under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, where you will have to check the Workplace by Facebook box. Finally, click Save to save the changes made.
   Note:
4. In the case of grayed-out options, the group or account administrator has locked the option, and modifying it will require contacting them.

How to start a live stream to Workplace by Facebook

In order to stream live from Workplace by Facebook to Workplace, follow these steps:

• Join a webinar or a meeting by clicking on the button below.
• You can edit the meeting/webinar settings by clicking the More button in the controls.

• Workplace by Facebook has a Live feature that can be accessed by clicking here.
• The video will appear in the browser as a pop-up dialog box, asking you where you would like the live video to be posted.

• Once you have decided where to share, you can click on the next button.
• Click Next after selecting Use Stream Key under Get Started.
• Click the Done button.
• Make adjustments to optional video options, including the title and description of the broadcast.
• Click Go Live rather than choose how you want to broadcast.
• Your live meeting is displayed on the Workplace by Facebook page.

• In the controls toolbar, click More again and select Stop Streaming to stop streaming after you have finished the webinar or meeting.
