How do you enroll iPads using Apple Business Manager (ABM)?
The public key that can be downloaded from the Zoom web portal is needed to create a new MDM server on ABM once it has been uploaded. The server token can be downloaded from ABM by using the Zoom Rooms MDM web portal so that it can be uploaded to Zoom Rooms MDM. The device will now be assigned to the new MDM server you just created as soon as you navigate back to ABM after the token has been added. In case more detailed instructions are needed, please review them before proceeding.
The Device Enrollment Program (DEP) that Apple offers users is a program that allows them to enroll their devices in an MDM service. Apple Business Manager (ABM) users who do not have an Apple Business account will not be able to use their iPads if they do not have Apple Business accounts. Apple Configurator 2 is the only software available for these users to add devices to ABM that have iOS 11+ installed on them.
Does my iPad have to be new to be enrolled in Zoom Rooms MDM?
Using the individual enrollment option, you are able to enroll used iPads as well as new iPads. Apple Business Manager can also be used to add iOS11+ devices to a company’s network using Apple Configurator 2.
How do you unassign an iPad from Zoom Rooms MDM? (Apple Business Manager)
You will need to navigate to Apple Business Manager in order to unassign a device that has been enrolled using ABM in order to do this. In the Device Assignments section, click on: Choose Device > Choose Action > Unassign Device. There is a possibility that you will not be able to add the device back to Apple Business Manager if you Release the device. ABM will unassign the device from the server once the device has been unassigned from the ABM server. Alternatively, you can use the iPad as a normal iPad if you prefer, or you can enroll the device again from ABM if you wish.
How do you remove an iPad from Zoom Rooms MDM? (Individual)
Delete the profile on an iPad that has been enrolled individually in order to remove a profile that has been enrolled separately. Using the iPad, you can remove the Zoom Rooms MDM management by navigating to the following settings: > General > Profiles & Device Management > Zoom Rooms MDM > Remove Management. As a result, you will not be able to manage the iPad in Zoom Rooms MDM any more and it will be removed from the system. When you are done using the iPad as a normal iPad, you can enrol it again if you wish.
How do I configure Zoom Rooms MDM features after I’ve enrolled the device?
From the Zoom Rooms tab on the Zoom web portal, you can configure the features that you want.
How much does Zoom Rooms MDM cost?
A Zoom Rooms subscription includes MDM and there is no additional charge associated with this.
What can I try if my Zoom Rooms app didn’t automatically download after successfully enrolling?
The iPad profile can be deleted directly from the iPad in the Settings section if you installed the device individually, and then you can scan the QR code or enter the access code again if you installed the iPad individually. The Zoom Rooms app should begin downloading after you have installed the Zoom Rooms profile.
What can I try if I don’t see my device in the dropdown list when trying to Assign a Room?
Please enter the serial number of the device manually if you are unable to do so automatically. As a last resort, we recommend that you check that the device has not already been assigned to another room if this does not work.
