Joining a Zoom Event with a direct join link for Speakers
As a host of a Zoom Event, you can provide a direct link so that speakers can join the conference directly. In order to join a Zoom session on the desktop client, speakers can use the direct join link, even if they are not logged in, even if they are not using any credentials.
A week before an event starts, hosts can create links that enable speakers to join directly into their event. In order to give hosts and speakers a significant amount of time to rehearse ahead of an event, the direct join link has been created to provide them with a significant amount of lead time.
Note:
There is a 1-week time frame, which is determined by the start time of the event, since it is specifically 168 hours before the event starts.
Using this feature, event hosts will be able to assist speakers who have issues joining an event by helping them bypass any issues they may be experiencing. A speaker may find themselves in this situation if they find out that due to a scheduling issue they are unable to attend a specific event before their assigned session starts. The reason they might not be able to attend a Zoom event may be that they are using a different account on Zoom’s desktop client, that they forgot their login information, or that they have registered their ticket with the wrong account.
There will be a link and a verification code sent to the email address you provided. On your Zoom desktop client, you will be able to join the target session by using the link and verification code provided in the email.
Note: Speakers will not be able to receive a direct join link until one week before the event when it will be created and sent.
