Managing OnZoom event types
When you are a host, you will be able to create webinars and meetings. In order to run the webinars and meetings, Zoom Webinars is used, while Zoom Meetings is used for the meetings. There are different types of events which can be chosen by the hosts based on the type of interactivity and experience they want for their event participants. The benefit of hosting webinars is that they give hosts the opportunity to present to a larger audience, plus they have more control over presenting, attendees, and panelists than attending face-to-face events. In a meeting event, attendees and hosts have more chances to interact and engage with each other, as well as with one another. You can customize these two types of events based on the preferences of your attendees as well as your own.
There is a range of Zoom Meetings licenses available, as well as Zoom Webinars licenses, that will allow you to host events that can accommodate up to 50,000 attendees, 1,000 panellists, and / or alternative hosts, according to your Zoom account subscription.

How to choose an event type for your attendees
There is one significant difference between a webinar and a meeting event, which can be found in the extent to which the audience (the attendees) is allowed to participate in the event.
When to choose the webinar event type
Throughout the event, the host is responsible for presenting and controlling the experience. In the event that attendees want to turn on their audio and video equipment, they may do so, but will be unable to do so during the session, but they can interact with the host and panelists using the following options:
- Chat
- Q&A
When to choose the meeting event type
In the event that this feature is enabled, attendees will be able to participate in the event (if this feature is enabled) by turning on:
- Audio
- Video
- Chat
How to add a Zoom Webinars license
When using a Zoom Basic Webinar license, you will be able to host the following OnZoom events:
- There is a limit of 40 minutes for the duration of the webinar.
- There is a maximum number of attendees for each event that can reach 100 people.
- Only the Zoom Webinars brand logo can be displayed on the screen.
- In the section on Event Options, there is no option to change the Cloud Recording Settings or to set up access permissions for the cloud recording.
It is possible to purchase an additional Zoom Webinars license for your Event if you need additional features, which are not included in the Basic Webinar license, by visiting your account’s billing page or by contacting sales. After purchasing a Zoom Webinars license, you will be able to assign it to your account.
How to invite panelists and alternative hosts to webinar events
As part of your webinar event creation or after your event has already been published, you are able to invite up to 100 panelists or alternative hosts.
Note: A separate email invitation will be sent to the panelists separately from the invitations sent to the attendees, which will include a unique link to join and other information for joining the panel.
How to increase attendee capacity for events
Increase webinar event’s maximum attendee capacity
In most cases, a webinar event can accommodate 500-50,000 attendees, depending on the webinar license you have subscribed to, and this number is determined by how many people attend your webinar. Upgrade your Zoom Webinars license if you wish to increase the maximum number of attendees in your webinar event. The number of attendees for your webinar is not affected by the number of alternative hosts or panelists, but rather is limited by the maximum capacity of your meeting room.
Increase Meeting event’s maximum attendee capacity
According to the meeting license you are assigned as a meeting organizer, the maximum number of attendees is between 100 and 1,000, and this number depends on what type of meeting you are hosting. Your Zoom meeting license can be upgraded in order to increase the number of attendees to your meeting event.
