Upgrading or downgrading Zoom Rooms
In order to upgrade or downgrade the Zoom Rooms software, administrators and owners of the accounts can use the Zoom web portal to upgrade the Zoom Rooms software remotely to the latest version or to the previous version. Using Zoom device management, you can update Zoom Room controller software manually or you can do it from Zoom’s web portal using Zoom device management. There is no way to downgrade the controller software once it has been installed.
Notes:
- The Zoom Rooms and their controllers must be running a version of 5.0.5 or higher in order for them to work. Due to enhanced encryption between rooms and controllers, this version is required for the room to be able to function properly.
- You will need to refer to the support page for your Zoom Rooms to find out how to upgrade/downgrade it.

Prerequisites for upgrading or downgrading Zoom Rooms software

- A person who is the owner of the account or has admin privileges on the account
How to upgrade Zoom Rooms
Windows | macOS
If you would like all users in your account to have Zoom Rooms upgraded, follow these steps:
- Ensure that you are logged in as an administrator with the right to edit account settings on the Zoom web portal.
- Click on Room Management in the navigation panel, and then click Zoom Rooms in the next window.
- Select the Devices tab on the left hand side of the screen.
- Upgrade Zoom Rooms by clicking on the Upgrade Zoom Rooms button.
- Confirm the upgrade by clicking the Upgrade button.
Note: It is recommended that Zoom Rooms wait for up to 30 minutes before proceeding with the upgrade in order to make sure there are no ongoing meetings or meetings that are about to begin. From the Download Center, you can download the latest version of Zoom Rooms in case you need to upgrade as soon as possible.
How to downgrade Zoom Rooms

Note:
There is only one way to downgrade from one version to another.
To downgrade Zoom Rooms for all users in the account:
- Log in as a Zoom administrator with the privilege of editing account settings on the Zoom web portal.
- You will be able to access Zoom Rooms by clicking Room Management in the navigation panel.
- Click on the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
- If you want to downgrade your Zoom Room, you will need to find it and click on the ellipses.
- In the Zoom Rooms menu, click on Downgrade Zoom Rooms.
- If you wish to downgrade, click the Downgrade button.You will be able to see the version of the app that is being downgraded. It is possible to stop the downgrade if necessary by clicking Cancel.
Note: There will be a 30-minute waiting period before the Zoom Room downgrades the service to make sure that no meetings will be in progress or will begin within the next 30 minutes.
How to upgrade the Zoom Room controller app

On these Zoom Room controller devices, the Zoom software can be updated manually if the device itself is capable of doing so, or from the Zoom device management portal if the device is not capable of doing so.

How to upgrade Zoom Room Appliances
There are a number of Logitech products that need to be upgraded separately, including the Logitech Rally Bar, the Logitech Rally Bar Mini, Poly X30, X50, and the G7500. There is no support for location-based updates as well as updates by account-based updates.
Note: There is an automatic update from Neat for the appliances in the Neat Bar Zoom Room.
The following steps must be taken for all users in the account to upgrade their Zoom Rooms appliances:
- In order to edit account settings, you will need to register as an administrator on the Zoom web portal.
- You can access Zoom Rooms by clicking on Room Management in the navigation panel.
- Select the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
- Choose Filters from the drop-down menu.
- To find Zoom Room Appliances in a Zoom Room, you need to select Enrolled in ZDM from the last dropdown menu.
- In order to upgrade a Zoom Room Appliance, you need to find it on your computer.
- The following options can be selected by clicking the ellipses:
- Upgrade OS: The device needs to be updated with the latest OS version.
- Upgrade Zoom Room: It is recommended that you update the Zoom Rooms app on your device.
- The Upgrade OS or Upgrade Zoom Rooms button can be clicked if you wish to upgrade all of the displayed devices.
- Confirm the upgrade by clicking the Upgrade button.
Refresh the Zoom web portal after the upgrade has been completed to see the latest version of Zoom once the upgrade has been completed.
How to troubleshoot Zoom Room issues
You may encounter problems during the course of the process, as a result of which you will need to consider the following options.
- The Zoom Room device is recommended to be rebooted after you have made the changes.
- Zoom Rooms should be uninstalled and then reinstalled so that all the new features will be available.
