Channel privileges for external users in Zoom App

As shown in the table below, external users have fewer channel privileges in comparison with internal users, as shown in the following example.

Note: An account administrator or channel administrator can enable or disable the privileges marked with an asterisk (*) by making sure that they are enabled. For more information on a particular privilege, simply click on the embedded link for that privilege.

This will allow you to view the complete profile information of members (name, photo, phone number, extension number, department, job title, location, etc.)

Note: A member’s full profile information can be accessed by external members if the member is a contact of the external member. A member’s profile name and photo are the only things external members are able to see if they are not a contact of that member.

Creating a channel for members and inviting them to join
  1. Start Zoom’s desktop client by logging in with your Zoom account.
  2. On the left side of the screen, click on the Chat tab.
  3. If you wish to invite members to a channel, click on the channel you would like to invite them to.
