Using dual screen views on SIP/H.323 devices in Zoom

The Cloud Room Connector enables SIP/H.323 devices that have installed the software to view the Active Speaker layout on an additional screen while simultaneously viewing the Gallery view layout on the first screen, or allowing both Gallery views to be viewed simultaneously on both screens. The meeting screen will display both participants separately on each screen if there are only two other participants in the meeting.

Note :
It uses the dual-streams feature to provide a second video feed when screen sharing is not used, since it uses the content stream for the second video feed. It consequently follows that if you make use of “505” as part of your dialing string to force a single-stream video connection, then the feature will not be able to work properly.

Prerequisites for using dual screen views on SIP/H.323 devices

  • Two monitors are connected to a SIP/H.323 device
  • At the device level, H.239 or BFCP should be enabled
  • It is possible to use H.264 as a content channel for screen sharing
  • It is recommended that the call speed be at least 4 Mbps

How to join a meeting with dual-screen video enabled

The dial string containing the number “308” or “608” will need to be added to your dial string when you dial into a meeting with dual video enabled.

Note :
The video layout can still be changed from the inside of the meeting menu regardless of whether users are using 608 or 308 to join the meeting. To do so, open the main menu and then press 1 to alter the layout of the video.
