During a Zoom Rooms meeting, you will be able to control your local HD camera with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) functionality, which allows you to control your camera locally. It is also possible to control far end cameras through the Zoom Rooms controller as well as save camera presets. You can dynamically choose between two cameras in the Zoom Room when you tap Switch Camera on the Zoom Rooms controller. If there are more than two cameras available in the Zoom Room, you can select a camera from a list to switch from one to the other as needed. The Switch Camera control toggles between the two cameras if there are only two cameras available for use.

iOS
Controlling a local camera
It is possible to move the Zoom Room camera to a different position using the iPad controller, if your Zoom Room uses a PTZ Camera with UVC controls.
Using the Zoom Room control panel, you are able to control the camera as follows:
- Meetings can be started or joined at any time.
- You can control the camera by tapping the Camera Control icon.
- It is possible to zoom and pan the camera using the icons on the Camera Control popup until you are in the position you want it to be in.
- In order to return to the control panel for the meeting, simply tap Done.
Note:
- You can disable the mirror effect for your own Zoom Room’s video display by clicking the toggle if you do not wish to use the mirror effect on the Zoom Room’s video display (the way the Zoom Room’s display looks like a mirror).
- You can use the Intelligent Zoom (or the Auto-Framing) feature of a PanaCast v3 or Huddly IQ camera if you are using one of these cameras. Select the Camera Control icon, and then tap on the Intelligent Zoom toggle button to enable this option. Based on the location of the people in the room, the camera will automatically adjust as needed to display the optimal view of the whole room.
Controlling a remote camera
If you are using a Zoom Room controller version 4.0 or later on your iPad, you can remotely control the camera of another participant or another Zoom Room. Controlling another camera remotely can be done by following these steps:
- Meetings can be started or joined at any time.
- You can display the list of meeting participants by tapping the Manage Participants icon at the top of the screen.
- If you want to control the camera of a participant, you will need to tap their name, and then choose Request Camera Control under their name.
- A message is sent to the participant asking for their approval. If the participant approves your request, you will receive a message informing you that the camera will now be controlled by you once the request has been approved.
- The remote participant’s camera controls will be displayed once they tap Now on the remote participant’s camera.
- In order to get the camera in the correct position, use the icons on the screen to zoom in and out.
- To return to the Manage Participants pop-up, you need to tap Give up Camera Control.
- Once you have done this, you will be able to return to the meeting controls by clicking Done on the Participants popup.
Using camera presets
There is an option in the Camera Control menu for setting a default camera position, or returning a camera to a preset position that is available to users. The Zoom Room is only able to use these buttons if it’s equipped with a supported camera and an iPad controller that is version 4.6 or later.

- The Zoom Room settings will be locked if the passcode is not entered but a popup will appear asking you to enter it.
- Tap the OK button after you have entered the Zoom Room passcode.
- If you choose Save position, then you will be able to zoom or pan the camera in a specific direction until you reach the position which you wish to save.
