How to attend a zoom webinar (participants)
If you are subscribed to or joined in the webinar and have not received a confirmation email specifically for the panelist or alternate host, you will be a regular webinar participant (ie, a viewer). As a participant, you can mute/unmute audio, show your hand on the screen, and send other messages.

Join the webinar from the link
To join the webinar, click the link provided by the host or the link displayed on the confirmation screen after registration.
If the host sent a registration confirmation email, the email contains a similar link.
Manually join the webinar
If the link does not open the webinar, download the Zoom client for the meeting and follow the steps below.
- Install the application
- Open the Zoom client and click Join Meeting .
- Confirm the 9 digit meeting ID / webinar ID described in the registration email . It may be displayed at the end of the dial-in information, or it may be described in the link for participation after https://zoom.us/w/.
- Meeting ID / Personal ID / personal link field in the 9-digit webinars ID Enter the participants toclick.
- Enter your name and e-mail address , if necessary . Click Join Webinar .
If the webinar is in session, you can now join the webinar.
Wait for the waiting room , the screen will change to the following screen. Please wait until the host to launch this webinar
If the host has not started the webinar broadcast, or if you are preparing using a hands-on session, you will see the following message:
If you receive a message that tells you the date and time of the webinar, check the time zone, and the date and start time of the webinar. Please be sure to join when the webinar

Audio settings
- Click Audio Options to adjust the webinar audio settings .
For Linux, click ^ next to Mute/Unmute Then click Test Speakers and Microphone to open the full audio settings. - The ” Audio Settings ” of the Zoom application settings will open.
- Click the drop-down to change the audio terminal or adjust the slider to change the volume.
Mute release / mute
With the permission of the host, you can unmute and speak during the webinar. All participants will hear what they say.
For Linux , please refer to [Audio Settings] above.
- You will receive a notification when your host allows you to speak.
- The audio settings change to the Mute / Unmute button.
Q & A
The Q & A window allows you to ask questions to the host and panelists. Hosts and panelists can answer in the Q & A window or answer questions live and directly on the spot.
- Click Q & A to open the Q & A window.
- Enter your question in the Q & A and click Submit.
- When the host answers from the Q & A, the answer is displayed in the Q & A window.
- The host may answer the question on the fly (in a live response). In this case, you can select [ answer live ] in the Q & A window .
Like and comment on a question
As a participant, you can “ Like ” or add comments on other participants’ questions . This helps the host or participant to identify frequently asked questions, especially in high participant webinars.
- 1. Click the thumb up icon and add “Like”.
- Click the red thumb up icon to cancel Like.
- Click Comment to fill out an answer to an existing question.
At this time, you can select [ Reply live ] or [ Enter response ] . - Enter your comment and click Submit .
Comments are displayed below the questions.
chat
During in-meet chat, you can send a chat message or send a message to hosts, panelists, and participants, if allowed.
- Click Chat to open an in-meeting chat.
- If it is not full screen, the chat will be displayed on the right side of the Zoom window.
- In the case of full screen, a window is displayed that allows you to move around the screen as needed.
- To change who you chat with , click the drop-down list next to ” Send to: “.
- Enter your message and press Enter .
Raising hand
You can raise your hand on the webinar to let the host know what you need. The host may give instructions for raising hands. Many webinar hosts use this feature to know if participants have questions or want to speak.
- Click Raise Hand in the participant settings.
- The hand raising status remains displayed until you or the host lower.
- If necessary, [ down the hand by clicking], you can lower your hands.
Leave the meeting
[ Exits the meeting by pressing the button, you can exit the webinar at any time.If a webinar is in progress, it can rejoin as long as the host has not locked the webinar.

If the host has not started the webinar broadcast, or if you are preparing using a hands-on session, you will see the following message: The webinar starts when the host starts broadcasting.

Tap the speaker icon in the upper left corner to turn off the device’s speaker.

- Tap Q & A to open Q & A window.
- Click Ask a question in Q & A, enter a question and tap Submit .
- . If the host answers from the Q & A, the answer will be displayed in the Q & A window.
- The host may answer the question on the fly (live). In this case, a notification appears in the Q & A window.
chat

- Tap ” Chat ” to open the chat during the meeting.
- To change who you chat with , tap the drop-down list next to Send To .
- Enter your message and press Enter .
Raising hand
You can raise your hand on the webinar to let the host know what you need. The host may give instructions for raising hands. Many webinar hosts use this feature to know if participants have questions or want to speak. See details on raising your hand.
- Tap Participant’s Raising Hands .
- The hand raising status remains displayed until you or the host lowers.
- If necessary, [ lowering the hand by clicking], you can lower your hands.
