On-demand recording in Zoom App

Cloud recordings for meetings or webinars can be done on demand, requiring viewers to register before gaining access. Record registration can be customized with custom fields and manual or automatic approval. The link to access the recording does not change, but when the recording on demand option is turned on, you will be accessing the registration page instead of directly cloud recording.

Prerequisites

 

Record on-demand video

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal and navigate to My Recordings My Recordings .
  2. Click the meeting topic that you want to record on demand.

Click on share 

 

Switch on demand (registration required) to on (blue).

The recording is now on demand. If the user accesses a link to view the recording, they need to register before viewing.

After registration, the user can view the recording.

Change registration settings

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal and navigate to My Recordings .
  2. Click on the topic to record.

Click [ Registration Settings ].

 

This will open the on-demand settings.

 

  1. Approve: Select if you want the registrant to automatically view the recording after registration, or if you want to approve the registrant to manually view the recording.
  2. Notice: Check if you want to receive an email when someone subscribes to view the recording.
  3. Other options: Check if you want the social sharing button to appear on the recording subscription page. This includes Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn social sharing buttons.
  4. Question: Click the Question tab to adjust the fields that will be displayed and required when someone registers to view the record.
  5. Custom Questions: When registering to view records, add custom questions that you complete for the viewer.
  6. When complete, click Save All.If manual approval is turned on for on-demand recording, the user will be taken to a page that informs them that registration information has been sent. Once your request has been approved, you will receive an email with a link to view the recording. If the user’s request is denied, the user receives an email notifying them that the registration request has been denied.

Display registrant information

  • Log in to the Zoom web portal and navigate to My Recordings .
  • Click on the topic to record.

  • Click [ Display registrant ].

  • The registrant information is displayed on three tabs: Awaiting Approval, Approved, and Rejected.
    • Awaiting approval: Select the check box next to the user you want to approve.
      Click on approval. Check the box next to the user you want to reject. Click Reject.
  • Approved: This will list all the users who have access to view the recording.
  • Deny: Lists all users who have denied access to the record.

On-demand webinars will enable you to schedule a webinar with registration and automatically record the webinar in the cloud right after the webinar is scheduled, so when you schedule the webinar, you will be able to record it automatically.
