Cloud Recording in Zoom Rooms
You will be able to record meetings using Zoom Rooms on your computer and then upload the video and audio files to the Zoom Cloud, so you will be able to download them and/or stream them in your browser once they have been uploaded. Immediately after the meeting, the recording can be viewed or downloaded by sending a link to the user’s email. There is also a Zoom web portal where you can access the recording.

How to enable cloud recordings for scheduled meetings in Zoom Rooms
Enabling for the entire account
- The Zoom web portal can be accessed by logging in to the account.
- When you click on Account Management, you will be able to select Account Settings.
- The Cloud Recording option can be found under the Recording tab under the Recording tab.
- The setting should be enabled, so check that it is enabled. You should see a toggle that looks like this when you click on it.
- In order to enable the setting, click the toggle if it is disabled. Other cloud recording settings can be selected.
- The following option may be selected (optional) if you would like all the users in your account to be forced to use this setting, click the lock icon and then select Lock to confirm the setting is mandatory.
Enabling for a specific Zoom Room
- Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.
- To access Zoom Rooms, click Room Management.
- In the room where the setting needs to be enabled, click Edit.
- Click the Recording tab under the Meeting tab.
- Verify that Cloud Recording is enabled by finding the option and checking it. It should look like this when you toggle it on.
- The setting must be enabled by clicking the toggle. In the verification dialog box, click Enable.
How to enable cloud recordings for instant meetings in Zoom Rooms
- Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.
- To access Zoom Rooms, click Room Management.
- Individual rooms or an entire account can be enabled using the location hierarchy. Account Settings can be enabled for the entire account by clicking the Account Settings button.
- To access the Meetings tab, click it.
- Make sure Cloud Recording is enabled for instant meetings under the Meeting Settings menu. You should see a toggle like this.
- Toggle the setting if it is disabled. In the dialogue box that appears, click on Enable to enable the verification process.
- It is optional to make this setting mandatory for all users within your account by clicking the lock icon, then clicking Lock to confirm that this setting will be applied to all users in your account.

- Toggle the setting if it is disabled. Verification dialogue will appear. Click Enable.
How to record a Zoom Room meeting to the cloud
- You can initiate an instant meeting by tapping Home, followed by New Meeting, or you can start a scheduled meeting by tapping Start.
- You can start recording by tapping the Start Recording button on the Zoom Room controller:
- An email address will need to be entered if you are in an instant meeting.
- In the event of a scheduled meeting, you will receive a link to the cloud recording if you are in a scheduled meeting because the e-mail address of the host of the meeting will be sent to you.
- When you wish to stop recording, tap Stop Recording. If you wish to end the recording, leave the meeting and tap End meeting for everyone.
How to view a cloud recording as the meeting host
Viewing cloud recordings for scheduled meetings
- Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.
- You can view recordings by clicking Recordings.
- View the cloud recording files by clicking on the meeting topic.
Note: When the recording file is ready for viewing or downloading, the host receives an email notification.
Viewing cloud recordings for instant meetings
As soon as the recording is started, an email will be sent with the link to the cloud recording. The recording file can be viewed or downloaded from the email.
How to view a cloud recording as an administrator
- Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by signing in.
- Then click Recording Management under Account Management.
- View the recording files by clicking on the meeting topic. This page also allows you to manage recordings.
Note: The recording will have a Processing Recording… icon displayed in the list of recordings if the recording is still in the process of being converted. In order for the recording to be accessed, the processing has to be completed.
