Getting started with the Children’s Education Status setting
When you are an admin of an organization’s Zoom account, you can self-identify your account profile and report if you use Zoom products to provide educational services to children under 18 years of age by selecting the Children’s Education Status setting.
- As a general rule, Zoom only accepts the signatures of superintendents, principals, administrators, or teachers which are authorized for Zoom’s Consent to Educational Data Collection Practices. In the event that your organization is re-signing Zoom’s Consent to Education Data Collection Practices on an annual basis, you will be required to do so.
- The Children’s Education Status setting must be enabled for all international and US-based customers.
- In order for you to use Zoom, you must e-sign Zoom’s Consent to Educational Data Collection Practices if you are providing educational services to children under the age of 13.
- It is not required for you to e-sign Zoom’s Consent to Educational Data Collection Practices if you are an international customer who provides educational services to children under 13 years of age.

How to set your Children’s Education Status for the next school year
After consenting and being verified, all previous users will have to consent again each year. Within three hundred and thirty days from the account owner or admin enabling, getting started with, or enabling the feature, a notification will be sent to him or her stating they must recertify within thirty days from that notification. After the consenter receives the email with instructions on how to activate his or her education account, Zoom will email him or her with consent to educational data collection practices, and the consenter must accept those conditions.
It is because of this fact that the account will be blocked due to non-action within 30 days of receiving the notification. If the account is not handled within the following 30 days, it might be deleted.
Verify that the account has not been locked before requesting a new verification
In order to receive notifications, you will first be directed to a notification page after you have logged into your Zoom Education account. In the event that a verified account has been locked, renew the verification process
Then, you will be taken to a notification page for your Zoom Education account after logging in to it. Your account will be unlocked at that time and you will receive an email notification about it. To unlock their account, the account owner or admin must sign Zoom’s Consent to Educational Data Collection Practices within 30 days of the account being locked for them to be able to access the account again. There are several options you can choose from:
