Hosting a Zoom Meeting Using a Web Browser
The first way of hosting a meeting is by a web browser. Below are the steps you will need to take:
- Go to the Zoom Website, then sign in to your account.
- Go to “Host a Meeting” and choose the meeting you would like to host. As mentioned earlier, you can choose to host the meeting with Screen Share only, with the video on or off.
- In your browser, you will see a dialogue box. Here, click open zoom meeting.
- If you don’t see the open Zoom meeting option, click Launch Meeting.
- Go to Test Speaker and Microphone and follow the prompts on the screen to confirm that your microphone and speaker are functioning perfectly.
- Select Join with Computer Audio after you are done testing your speaker and microphone.
- Copy the invite link by hitting Copy Link.
- Share the link with the participants
- You can also invite participants by going to the Participants icon or the Invite Others icon. Alternatively, you can press Alt + I to ask other individuals to the meeting.
- Fill in the addresses of the recipients and send the email.
- Participants will receive a link.
- When participants click the link, a notification will appear on your screen. You can let in participants by clicking the Admit button.
- To end the meeting, choose Leave Meeting or End Meeting for All.
Hosting a Meeting Using Zoom Desktop Client
The second way of hosting a Zoom meeting is using the Desktop Client. You will have to download the Zoom Desktop client and then follow the prompts below:
- Launch the Zoom Desktop Client.
- Sign in and provide your details. Alternatively, you can sign in with Facebook, Google, or SSO.
- Sign in again.
- Select how you want to start the meeting.
- Click the button Join with Computer Audio.
- Invite participants.
- Fill in the details of your participants and send an email.
- Admit the participants when they click the link.
- Leave Meeting or End Meeting for All, and the participants will be notified.
Hosting a Zoom Meeting on Mobile
You can also host a Zoom meeting on your android mobile device. Here’s how to go about it:
- Launch the app.
- Sign in and provide your details.
- Alternatively, you can sign in with Facebook, Google, or SSO
- Zoom should launch after a short moment. If the app does not launch automatically, tap Launch Zoom.
- Click New Meeting.
- Select a preferred way of conducting the meeting and Personal ID setting.
- Start the meeting.

- Select Schedule a Meeting.
- Enter the meeting’s topic.
- Select a date and time.
- Click the drop-down menu and choose a duration.
- Choose your time zone,
- If the meeting will be recurring, click the checkbox and provide the necessary information.
- Generate the ID automatically or use the Personal Meeting ID.
- Create a password.
- Leave the Waiting Room.
- Select your preferred settings for the meeting.
