How to control the other party’s or far end camera in Zoom Meeting

Overview

far end camera control allows other users to control the camera and to use the camera’s pan tilt zoom (PTZ) feature. Your webcam must have these features to make this work. The meeting host is the only user who can request far end camera control.

Enabling far end camera control

Enable far end camera control for your account

Perform the following steps to enable the far end camera control feature for all members of your organization.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Web portal as an administrator with permission to edit the account settings[ Account Settingsand then click.
  2. [ meeting]of the tab [ far end camera control] to move to the option, make sure that the setting is enabled.

If the setting is disabled, [ status] click to enable the toggle. When the confirmation dialog appears, [ to enable] to see the changes and select.

  1. (Optional) If you want this setting to be mandatory for all users in your account, click the lockicon and then click Lockto confirm the setting.

 

Enable far end camera control for a specific group

To enable far end camera control for all members of a particular group:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Web portal as an administrator with the authority to edit a user group, [ Group Management]and click.
  2. Click the name of the group, [ Settings]and then click the tab.
  3. [ meeting]of the tab [ far end camera control] to move to the option, make sure that the setting is enabled.

If the setting is disabled, [ status] click to enable the toggle. When the confirmation dialog appears, [ to enable] to see the changes and select.

 

Note :  If this option is grayed out, it is locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.

  1. (Optional) If you want this setting to be mandatory for all users in this group, click the lockicon, then click Lockto confirm the setting.

 

Enable far end camera control for yourself

To enable far end camera control for your application:

  1. Zoom to sign in to the Web portal[ My Meetings Settings(in the case of the account administrator) or [ Meeting Settingsand click (in the case of account members).
  2. Go to the far endCamera Control option on the Meetings tab and make sure the settings are enabled.

If the setting is disabled, [ status] click to enable the toggle. When the confirmation dialog appears, [ to enable] to see the changes and select.

 

Note :  If the option is grayed out, it is locked at the group or account level and you need to contact the zoom administrator.

 

How to Use Far End Camera Control

  1. Start a meeting.
  2. After joining the meeting, select the video of the user for whom you want to request camera control,and select Request Camera Control.
Note : If the user does not have a camera with PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom), you can not request camera control.
  1. You will be prompted to approve the far end camera control.
  2. Once approved, the controls appear to pan, tilt and zoom the user’s camera.

You can disable Zoom Auto-on Cameras by executing the following command in order to disable them:
  1. Zoom’s client must be opened in order to use the service.
  2. In the top right hand corner of the screen, you will find a zoom.us link in the menu bar.
  3. To change your preferences, click on the Preferences button.
  4. Click the Video button on the left side of the window that opens.
