How to Launch Zoom from a web browser

Overview
If you are joining or hosting a meeting using Google Chrome , Mozilla Firefox , or Apple Safari , you will see a dialog box to launch the Zoom application.
In Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, you can always choose to open the link in Zoom. This feature is not currently supported in Safari.

Google Chrome
- Open Chrome .
- Go to Join Meeting .
- Enter the “Meeting ID” provided by the host / organizer .
- [ Participation ] and click.
- [Open Zoom Meetings? ] Screen will pop up. Click Open Zoom Meetings .
Every time you try to launch Zoom from your web browser, you need to check “Always open this type of link in zoom.us in the associated app”.
Mozilla Firefox

- Open Firefox .
- Go to Join Meeting .
- Enter the “Meeting ID” provided by the host / organizer .
- [ Participation ] and click. If you are joining from
Firefox for the first time, you maybe prompted to open the Zoom or Zoom installer package. - [ Open Link ] and then click.
To skip this step in the future, check [Remember my choice for Zoommtg links. ] .
Safari
- Open Safari .
- Go to Join Meeting .
- Enter the “Meeting ID” provided by the host / organizer .
- [ Participation ] and click.
- You will be asked if you want to open zoom.us. [ Open Zoom.Us ] and click.
- To skip this step in the future, check “Always allow zoom.us to open links of this type in the associated app”.

Zoom Launcher plugin issues
The plugin may not be activated, disabled, installed incorrectly, or installed correctly but may fail to run. There are several ways to fix it. Check if the Zoom Launcher Plugin is enabled (if it is disabled, re-enable it).
Google Chrome
- In the address bar, type chrome: // extensions / .
- Make sure that the “zoom.us launcher plugin is enabled and always allowed where it is listed ” .

Mozilla Firefox
- In the address bar, enter https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ .
- Click Click Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins.
- The ” Zoom Launcher” is always active.
Safari
Safari no longer supports most plugins . You have to choose to launch Zoom every time.
Internet Explorer
- Internet Explorer does not have a Zoom plugin.
- zoom_launcher.exe will be executed automatically.
If it is enabled but you want to continue the download every time, here are the steps you can take to fix this:
- Go to Task Manager and close any instances of Firefox / Chrome (Shadow).
- Restart firefox / chrome and remove the zoom launcher plugin.
- Click Host Meeting from your browser ( zoom.us ) and you will need to reload the plugin
