How to Sync Zoom presence to Outlook in Zoom

This post was most recently updated on July 29th, 2022

In addition to being able to sync your Outlook calendar and contacts with Zoom, you can also set Zoom to set the status of your Outlook calendar based on your current Zoom status, which in turn will set the status of your Outlook calendar. As soon as you enable Zoom, any changes you make to your Zoom status, as well as the picture you choose for your Zoom profile, will be reflected in Outlook.

Note: As Outlook only allows you to sync with one app at a time, syncing with Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams is not allowed, so if you want to use Zoom in partnership with Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams, you will need to disable those applications as well before enabling them together.

The following topics are covered in this article:

  • How to enable presence mapping
  • How status mapping works

Prerequisites for syncing Zoom presence to Outlook

  • It is recommended that you use Zoom desktop client version 5.2.0 (42619.0804) or better for Windows 10
  • On the device, there is an Outlook application that has been installed locally

How to enable presence mapping

  1. Using the Zoom Desktop Client, sign in to your account.
  2. When you click your profile picture, you will be able to access your settings.
