Issues with the Zoom Launcher plug-in

It may happen that the plugins are not activated or disabled, or they may be installed or run correctly, but are either not activated or disabled, or they may not be installed or run correctly. If it is preventing you from connecting to Zoom, you can check if the Zoom launcher plugin has been disabled (and re-enable it if it has been)

Most plug-ins are no longer supported by Safari. In order for Zoom to work, the user will have to open it by selecting it from the menu.

Internet Explorer

  1. In Internet Explorer, there is no Zoom plugin available.
  2. A zoom_launcher.exe file will be launched automatically.

Here are some steps that you can take to correct this if it is still downloading every time after it has been enabled:

  • management
  • management, restart Firefox/Chrome, and then uninstall the zoom launcher from Firefox/Chrome

It should reload the plugin when you click on host a meeting from the browser (

Frequently Asked Questions

Chrome is the web browser of choice for many people

In the field provided by the meeting’s host/organizer, please enter your meeting ID. Join the group by clicking the Join button. On the PC, simply click the Open Zoom Meeting button or on the Mac, click Open Zoom. If you are trying to launch Zoom from a web browser, you must select this option each time you want to launch it.

In the Overview (Advanced) section of the meeting, there is a toggle button, which can be toggled on or off in order to show a “Join from Your Browser” link when joining from your browser. As soon as you view the verification dialog, you’ll be able to check the change you have made by choosing Enable or Disable. Firstly, I would like to remind you that grayed out options indicate that they have either been locked at a group or account level. In other words, it means that the option has been hidden. Your Zoom administrator will be able to assist you with this issue.
As a Zoom member, you can join a Zoom meeting from within your web browser, which does not require any additional software or plugins to be downloaded and installed prior to joining the meeting. Regardless of the fact that a Zoom user is not in possession of the Zoom desktop application, the Zoom web client allows them to join Zoom meetings through their web browsers, even if they are not able to install, or download the Zoom desktop application.
You will not be able to completely avoid both options if you use Zoom. Hence, if you don’t wish to use Zoom’s app, you will have to register and sign in via Zoom’s website if you are avoiding the app altogether. You should be able to find the option to ‘Host a Meeting’ or ‘Join a Meeting’ at the top of the Zoom website homepage once that step has been completed.
Using the Launch Application option in Google Chrome, you will be able to launch the Zoom Client.

Browsers that are recommended for use
