Control while meeting in Zoom Rooms for Touch
After starting a meeting from Zoom Rooms for Touch, you can manage the meeting using the built-in controller. The integrated controller has the same functionality as a regular controller.

- Zoom Room for PC version Meeting Room-Released after January 2019
- Windows PC version 8.1 or later with touch screen

Control during a meeting
To display the integrated meeting controls, tap [ … ] in the lower right : you can now access the controls:
- Microphone Mute / Unmute: Mute or unmute a room microphone.
- Start / Stop Video : Start or stop the video camera in the room.
- Share content or camera: View instructions for sharing content on your laptop or mobile device.
- Change View: Change the layout of the video display to one of these options.
- Speaker: Displays the active speaker video.
- Thumbnail: Displays the video of the active speaker. All other attendees will be displayed with thumbnails below the active speaker.
- Gallery: Displays all attendees in a grid layout.
- Camera control: Change PTZ camera settings, preset or switch to secondary camera.
- Manage participants / participants: Shows the participants in the meeting. If you are the host, you will see controls for managing participants.
- Invitation: Invite by contact, email, phone, or meeting room system.
- Start recording: Start recording to the cloud.
- Settings: Access room settings (requires room pass code).
- Volume slider: Adjust the volume of the room speakers.
- Raising Hands: If you are attending a meeting as an attendee, tap Raise Hand at the bottom right to indicate that something is needed from the organizer.
Participant List Control as Host
If you are the meeting host, tap Manage Participant in Meeting Controls to access the following features:
- Tap the names of these optional participants:
- Start or stop the video.
- Pin or spotlight the video.
- Allow participants to record.
- Make a participant a host or co-host .
- Assign participants to enter subtitles .
- Put the participant on hold.
- Remove participants from the meeting.
- Mute All: Mute all participants. The room microphone will remain on.
- Unmute All: Unmute all attendees.
- Tap the details for the following options:
- Meeting Locking: Prevents other participants from joining the ongoing meeting.
- Mute participants when joining: Automatically mutes when participants join the meeting.
- Show / Hide Non- Video Participant : Displays or hides the participant’s name or profile picture on the Zoom room display if video is turned off.
- Show / Hide Self View : Shows or hides the video feed on the Zoom room display. If the video is off, this will show or hide your name or profile photo.
Participant List Control as Participant
To access these features, tap Participants in Meeting Controls :
- Tap your name in the Participant List, then tap your raise hand to indicate that you are asking the meeting host. A hand icon appears next to the participant list name.
- Billing Host: Switch to Host . You will be asked to enter a host key.
- Show / Hide Non- Video Participant : Displays or hides the participant’s name or profile picture on the Zoom room display if video is turned off.
- Show / Hide Self View : Shows or hides the video feed on the Zoom room display. If the video is off, this will show or hide your name or profile photo.
Invite participants
If participants are included in the meeting room contact list, you can invite them to the meeting.
- Start or join a meeting from Zoom Room Touch.
- Tap [ Control ] at the bottom of the screen to display the built-in controller.
- Tap the invitation. The Invite Contacts dialog is displayed.
- Start typing the name of the person or room you are inviting.
- Tap the name of one or more contacts, then tap b .
- If the contact is online, the Zoom client receives a pop-up notification from the Zoom room that he has been invited to the meeting.
If the contact is unavailable or you decline the meeting, the meeting room does not receive notification. Also, the meeting room does not show a notification that a new participant has joined. By viewing the gallery view, you can see the new participants that are participating. The name is also displayed in the Participant List.
You can not do this directly from the Zoom room integrated controller if you want to invite people who are not in the meeting room contact list, but you can send meeting IDs from other devices.
Record a meeting
- Start or join a meeting from Zoom Room Touch.
- Tap [ Control ] at the bottom of the screen to display the built-in controller.
- [ Recording start and then tap].
- The Send Record dialog is displayed.
- Enter the email address to which you want to send the recording link.
- [ OK Tap].
- When the meeting is over, the recording is processed. Email recipients will receive a link to the recording when they are ready.
In-meeting settings
During a meeting, tap Settings on the meeting control to access these options.
Microphone
- Volume: Shows the sensitivity of the microphone.
- Source: Displays the microphone used in the Zoom room. Tap another sound source to change the microphone.
- Advanced : Enable software audio processing if you want to manage microphone settings in the Zoom room to optimize quality.
Speaker
- Volume: Shows the volume of the room’s speakers. Use the meeting control volume slider to change this.
- Source: Displays the speakers used in the Zoom room. Tap another sound source to change the speaker
Camera
Source: Displays the camera used in the Zoom room. Tap another source to change the camera.
Frequently Asked Question
How do you Zoom on a touch screen?
- The conference room can be accessed by logging into Zoom Rooms.
- The meeting controls screen has a Settings button in its bottom-right corner. Click this button to access the controls.
- When the Displays window appears, you will need to enter the room’s passcode if prompted.
- Use this as a touchscreen display by tapping this on the touchscreen monitor.
