Using Zoom’s desktop client is as simple as downloading it, installing it, and learning how to use it.

Do you need an account to use Zoom?

As a participant in Zoom Meetings, you do not need a Zoom account if you simply wish to join the meeting without creating an account first. If you receive an invitation to someone’s meeting, you can join as a participant without needing to register. On the other hand, if the host has restricted joining meetings to individuals who have a Zoom account, the participant will need to have a Zoom account in order to join the meeting. Find out how to connect to Zoom meetings without having an account.

An account is not required unless you intend to create your own meetings and send invitations to other attendees. By creating an account with Zoom, you will be able to hold your own Meetings instantly or set up Meetings in the future. In addition to maintaining an account, you can also access your personal settings and make changes to your account settings or upgrade your plan at any time.

Joining a meeting

How do I join a Zoom meeting?

Neither of these methods will work for joining a meeting, but joining a meeting using and entering the meeting ID will. Click here to find out how to join a meeting.

How do I join computer/device audio?

It is usually possible to synchronize audio between your laptop, computer, or any other device by clicking Join Audio, Join with Computer Audio, or Audio. Click here to learn more about how to connect your audio.

Can I use a bluetooth headset?

In that case, you should be able to use your Bluetooth device with your computer or mobile device, as long as it is compatible with both.

Do I have to have a webcam to join on Zoom?

You will not be able to transmit any video of yourself during a Zoom Meeting or Webinar, even if you do not require a webcam to join. During the meeting, you will still have the ability to listen and speak during the meeting, share your screen and view a video of the webcam of others.

How do I schedule a meeting?

Zoom webinars

How do I purchase a webinar license?

Having a Zoom webinar license is required as part of being a registered user and hosting a webinar. This license can be obtained on the Billing page of the Zoom web portal by clicking on the “Buy Now” button.

How do I host a webinar?

As soon as you have purchased your webinar license, you will have access to the Zoom web portal’s Webinars page where you can schedule your webinar. Whenever you are ready to launch your webinar, you can either do so from the web portal by clicking on the Webinars tab, or by clicking on the Meetings tab in the Zoom client. You can find out how to start using Zoom webinars by reading the instructions.

Meeting and webinar features

How do I share my screen?

You can share a screen by selecting Share in your meeting and then choosing the screen you want to share. To learn how to share your screen, click here.

Can I record my meeting?

Unless the Zoom account owner or administrator has disabled this feature, all Zoom hosts are able to record local recordings to their computer. In addition, licensed hosts can also record their sessions to the Zoom cloud, as long as they are licensed. To start a recording during a Zoom meeting, press the Record button. Find out more about local recording as well as cloud recording.

Where do I find my recording?

A local recording will be stored in your document folder by default. The recordings that you have uploaded to the cloud can be accessed on your Zoom web portal’s Recordings page. For more information about where to find your recordings, please click here.

How do I reset my password?
