If you have Zoom Phone enabled in your account, you can make and receive calls from Zoom. This article describes how to make a Zoom Phone call and various incoming call notifications.
During a Zoom Phone call, the call status is also synced to the assigned landline.
If you have an add-on for GSuite installed, you can make Zoom Phone calls directly from the add-on. For Zoom Phone usage of using the GSuite add-on here please check the.
Prerequisites
- Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, Linux: 5.2.0 or later
- Zoom mobile app for Android and iOS: 5.2.0 or later
- Zoom Phone License

to call
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
- Click Phone.
- Make a call using one of the following methods:
- Use the number pad on the screen or the number pad on your keyboard to dial the number and click the phone icon. When you dial a vanity phone number that contains letters in the number, Zoom Phone automatically converts the letters to numbers.
- Copy and paste the number into the text field and click the phone icon.
- Enter your name or number above the dial pad to search for extensions, outside lines, or synced Click the search result to make a call. Even if Zoom extension or outside contacts have multiple numbers, they will be displayed as one search result.
Note : If you make an international call , make sure your Zoom Phone supports dialing that number. Please contact the administrator for details.
- To change the caller ID number for an outside line, click the caller ID drop-down menu. During a call, the in-call status is synced with the assigned landline.Note: Checkthe function and restrictions of the caller ID number of the outside line .
- Use the controls during a call.
Call to synced contacts
You can set up contact sync to call contacts registered in your Google, Office 365, or Exchange account.
Use of contacts directory
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
- Click Contact.
- In the My Contactssection, click Cloud Contacts and select the contact you want to call.
- Click Call. You can also hover your mouse over the name of the user you want to call and click the phone icon.Note:
- Make sure the synced contacts have a phone number. If you don’t have a phone number, you ‘ll see your name in Cloud Contacts,but you won’t be able to make calls.
- If your contacts have multiple numbers, the numbers and labels you set in Google, Office365, or Exchange will be displayed. Click on a phone number to make a call. Click [Call]to call the number displayed first.
- Use the controls during a call.
Use contact search
You can also call a contact by entering a name or number in the search box above the dial pad.
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
- Click Phone.
- Enter your name or number on the dial pad.Note: If your synced contacts have multiple numbers, check the entry for each number.
- To change the caller ID number for an outside line, click the Caller ID drop-down menu. You can also hide the caller ID by selecting Hide Caller IDin the drop-down menu .
- Click the phone icon.
- Use the controls during a call.
Receive a call
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
- When an incoming call arrives, the Zoom Phone displays an incoming call notification to identify the caller.Note: If you have manually set the status to reject incoming calls, you will not see the incoming call notification.
- Click one of the following options depending on the incoming call notification:
- Approve: Answer the incoming call.
- Decline: You can forward to voice mail or hang up the call according to the settings on the Zoom Web Portal without answering the incoming call. ( Decline process when you click on is a Zoom Web portal [phone] of page [ Setup ] is within the tab [If there is no response to the call] can be set in the item of).
- Close icon (x): Ignores incoming call notification. The ringtone will continue to ring on other devices such as the Zoom mobile app and landlines.
- Skip(if transferred to you through the call queue): Skips incoming notifications and removes you from the current call queue. The call queue accesses other call queue members.
- If you are on a call, you will see the following options in the incoming call notification:
- Hold & Approve: Puts the current call on hold and answers the call. You can also use call controls to switch calls or integrate them into a three-way call.
- Send to Voicemail: The current call continues and the incoming call is forwarded to Voicemail.
- End & Approve: Ends the current call and answers the incoming call.
- Use the controls during a call.
iOS Android
to call
- Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
- Tap Phone
- Tap the dial mark on the upper left.
- Call a phone number in one of the following ways:
Note : If you want to make a call with the contacts app on your mobile phone, you can view your phone contacts on your Zoom Phone .- Use the on-screen number pad to dial the number and tap the blue phone icon.
- Instead of dialing the phone number with the number pad, you can also paste the phone number by tapping the red frame part.
- If you paste a phone number that contains letters, Zoom Phone will automatically convert the letters to numbers.
- You can also tap the contact icon to call anextension, outside line , or phone contact . Tap a contact to make a call.
Note : If you make an international call , make sure your Zoom Phone supports dialing that number.
- If you have a direct number or company representative number , tap the Caller IDdrop-down menu to change the caller ID of the outside line. You can also hide the caller ID by selecting Hide Caller ID in the drop-down menu . Note : Note :
- The characters displayed above the phone number are not the caller ID displayed to the other party.
- If you don’t have a direct number, or if your organization has only one primary number, the Caller ID drop-down menu will not appear.
- The in-call status is synced with the assigned landline.

Make a call to a mobile phone contact
If you see your mobile phone contacts in the Zoom mobile app, you can make a call using your Zoom Phone.
- Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
- Tap Contacts.
- Tap Phone Contacts.
- Tap the contact of the person you want to call from the displayed list.
- [Call]When you tap the button to make a phone call using the Zoom Phone.
- For operations during a call, check the controls during a call.
Receive a call
- Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
- When an incoming call arrives, the Zoom Phone displays an incoming call notification to identify the caller.
Note: If you have manually set the status to reject incoming calls, you will not see incoming call notifications. - Click one of the following options depending on the incoming call notification:
- Approve:Answer the incoming call.

- Skip(if transferred to you through the call queue): Skips incoming notifications and removes you from the current call queue. The call queue attempts to connect to other call queue members.

Can you make a phone call via zoom?
Making phone calls
Zoom Phone can be used for making and receiving calls once you have completed the setup process. Use the dial pad to make calls or search through your internal, external, or synced contacts to search for the contact you are looking for.
