How to Preview video before joining in Zoom App
Overview
You can preview your video before joining a meeting as an attendee if you have already completed the registration process. You can make adjustments to your video settings, such as virtual backgrounds and video filters, while you are previewing the video. It is also possible to test the video during any unscheduled time in the future while you are not in a meeting.

Enabling video preview
- Log into the Zoom desktop client by using your email address and password.
- You will then be able to access the Settings section on your profile page.
- Simply click the tab that says Video.
- When you join a video meeting you should always see the video preview dialog when you check the box next to Always show video preview dialog.
Note: - The Video Preview dialog is not displayed when you join a video meeting if you have the option Turn off my video when joining the meeting also selected. In order to view your video preview you must turn this setting off.

Previewing your video before joining a meeting hosted by another user
- Join a Zoom meeting from the Zoom desktop client.
Note: - If you choose to turn off your camera in the Join Meeting dialog, you will not be able to preview your video before joining the meeting and you will be unable to join the meeting without your camera. To see your video before joining the meeting, just clear the check box.
- When asked, you need to enter the meeting set up a password at the individual meeting, go to the settings tab and enable it. This setting will give you an option to set your password and click the Join Meeting button.
You will be taken to the video preview window. - The video preview dialog offers the following options:
- Always show video preview dialog when joining a video meeting:
- Uncheck this box in your settings to disable video previews. You will not see the Video Preview dialog the next time you join a video meeting. Please select this checkbox to maintain this setting.
- (VirtualDesktop):
- From the Virtual Desktop, click on the Zoom webinar window smaller, other options will move to [ Details ]. There are also new settings icon in the upper right-hand corner to see the settings. Upon selecting a virtual background, you will be able to change it, and you can apply improvements to the video such as filters and studio effects.
- Join with Video:
- By clicking to turn on your video, you will be able to join the meeting.
- Join without Video:
- By clicking to turn off your video, you will be able to join the meeting.

Enabling video preview
- Join the Zoom mobile app by signing in to your Zoom account.
- Select Settings from the bottom-right corner of the Zoom mobile app.
- Then tap on Meetings.
- The setting Always Show Video Preview is enabled by tapping the toggle in the next column.
Note: - The Video Preview dialog box will not be displayed when joining a video meeting if the Always Turn Off My Video setting is also enabled. For you to be able to view your video in preview mode, you must disable this setting by tapping the toggle.
Previewing your video before joining a meeting hosted by another user
- Join a Zoom meeting using the mobile Zoom app.
- If the meeting requires a password, enter it and click Continue.
- In the Dialog box for Video Preview, you can select any of the following options:
- Always show video preview dialog when joining a video meeting:
- If you do not want the video preview to be shown to you in your Zoom webinar window smaller, other options will move to [ Details ]. There are also new settings, please tap the toggle. It is unlikely that you will be shown the Video Preview window when you join a video meeting in the future. Be sure to toggle this setting on in order to keep it available.
- (Virtual Background):
- Tap the video Zoom webinar window smaller, other options will move to [ Details ]. There are also new settings icon in the upper left corner to open the video settings window. In this window, you can apply filters to videos and change the virtual background of the video. When you are done with this screen, you can go back to the Video Preview screen.
- Join with Video:
- Turn on your video to join the meeting.
- Join without Video:
- Simply tap to join without your video.

How do I preview a video before Zoom meeting?
