Frequently Asked Questions

In the meeting controls, click on the Breakout Rooms button. A message can be broadcast by selecting the Broadcast option on the right side of the screen. The message can then be entered and you will be able to select “Share this message with all members”. All participants in Breakout Rooms will now see the message as soon as they enter the room. You may have the option to choose the breakout rooms for your attendees based on the number of those who are expected to attend the meeting, if you are the meeting’s host on the day of the meeting.

There are several Zoom breakout rooms that can be accessed by everyone who has a Zoom account, so only those who log into their accounts and enable that function will be able to take part in these sessions for free, even if they do not have a Zoom account yet. There is only one catch here, and that is that you have to enable this setting in order to be able to create a breakout room on Zoom before you can actually create one.

It is recommended that you find the Breakout room option under Settings > Meeting > Meeting (Advanced), and make sure you enable it under this section.
  1. In the Settings > Meeting > In Meeting (Advanced) section of Zoom.us, you will be able to find an option that allows you to enable breakout rooms.
  2. The breakout rooms can be created using the toolbar on the left side of the screen.
  3. This menu should be populated with breakout rooms.
  4. Here you will find a menu where you can manage breakout rooms.
Using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen, select Account Management, followed by Account Settings to bring up the Account Settings page. In the Meetings tab, click on the Meetings button. It is possible to enable the breakout rooms by clicking the toggle under the In Meeting (Advanced) tab. To verify the change, you will need to click Enable on a confirmation dialog if it appears.

When you are setting up the meeting, you may want to prepare your participants into breakout rooms in advance. As a result, your meeting will be successful if you follow these steps in order to ensure an effective meeting. There are some situations where you might find this helpful if you already know how your participants need to be arranged and the way in which they need to be grouped can be very straightforward.

We are delighted to announce today that one of our newest features has just been released: Video Breakout Rooms, which is one of our newest features on the platform. In order to take advantage of this feature, all you need is a Zoom account, and you can do it for free.
